From here in Portland where last night's eclipse of the moon mesmerized the town, it strikes me that tonight's debate on CNN is Hillary Clinton's last stand. Barack Obama's momentum has overshadowed her road to destiny and the Clinton campaign has not been good at reinventing itself.

The Clintonistas ASSUMED they would win by Feb. 5th and the super primaries--and this is why they are losing today.

We all do it, but assuming entitlement does not make it so. Obama's superior organization, speaking skills and agility has given him the edge. And no, it does not trump experience in this case.

An long term friend who describes herself as a Republican with NO Party, is voting, enthusiastically here in Oregon, for Obama. Our mutual friend, who we called while she was in a long line to vote for Obama in Hawaii, is more excited that she ever remembers being.

Everywhere I go, people relish talking about the latest--the McCain story in the New York Times, the effect it will have on Obama, the debate tonight on CNN.

At the caucuses in Washington recently, I was fortunate to be elected to be an Obama delegate. As a storyteller and long time member of the media I have yet to experience this kind of grassroots democracy in action. It is very exciting and I take nothing for granted.

It's an honor to represent other voters from my precinct. And I will report to you on how it goes. The caucus was incredibily moving, the ongoing debate and voter turnout is amazing to watch and makes me very proud of our country.
