It is the anniversary of the invasion of Iraq, but it is also on all of the other days we must remember.

Abu Graib: silly, sad soldier girl whining it is the media's fault she and other torturers live in ignominy;

The surge: keeping a lid on violence, doing NOTHING to broker an honest settlement between the warring factions we helped sunder in Iraq;

Afghanistan: the forgotten war, the one that counts the most in moral high ground, and the least in committed resources;

Our Soldiers: stretched beyond endurance, maimed beyond the scope of other wars, left without right equipment, support and short shrift at home in terms of veteran's benefits;

The Contractors: accused of rape, thievery and incompetence--how did our military get turned over to a cadre of lawless pseudo-soldiers whose only stake in the game is how much money and treasure they can plunder?

Dick Cheney: sanctimonious evil one who gives not a damn about what the people thinks--want to bet he helped create this chaos to make sure his former masters corporate greed could control the oil, the military, and hence the region?

George: poor George, born with a silver foot in his mouth, of messianic delusion who will never understand why he is one of the WORST presidents (small p) we have ever had;

Osama Bin Laden: still threatening, still at large;

The Iraqi People: who have lost so much in the wake of this illegal and ignoble enterprise, and yes, I used that word deliberately;

The U.S. Constitution: still standing after the greatest assault it has suffered in more than 200 years;

The Economy: wrecked in the flood of borrowing, leaving our country bereft of infrastructure and the people devoid of future earnings.

Hope? yes, there is hope:

The Protesters: who still turn out to remind us all what really matters;

Liberal blogs, radio and tv: few and far between, we still raise our voices to tell truth to power;

The People: who understand that this war is wrong and despite prior crimes still turning out to vote for change in record numbers.

We must never forget that we are the agents of change and reform in our country--so keep VOTING.

Raise your voices to proclaim the truth and yes, help TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK, she needs us now, more than ever.

Erin... it's good to see you never let the facts get in the way of making a point.

So many point to correct, yet so little time, but let's take the military "left without the right equipment and support at home.

First, if they didn't have all the right equipment, you have to look at all the military cuts made during the previous administration.. cuts I'm sure you applauded at the time.

Second, it is true the Bush administration CONSOLIDATED redundant military services at home and while the final amount of money spend on veterans programs is lower, the amount of money spent on actual veterans is higher. Cutting government waste put more money on the pocket of the people who need it.

I hope all is well with you and some day, I'm counting on you stepping into the light of objectivity to see the world differently.
