If one more bone-headed. . . pundit tries to make the set for Presidential Nominee Barack Obama's speech at Mile High Stadium about anything but Democracy in action and the evocation of our ideals bespoken visually by our government buildings in Washington, I will yell loud enough to be heard in Denver.

United States citizens emulated the Greek idea of democracy THROUGHOUT the world, why the heck wouldn't we do it for a political speech. (see Reagan, Ronald and Bush, GW for similar stagecraft)

So revel in the history--on this day, the anniversary of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s speech on the Mall in Washington, D. C.--we will gather at Mile High Stadium in Denver, Colorado to celebrate and listen to the FIRST African-American nominee, naturally a Democrat, for the first time in our history as a nation.

A nation stained in the blood of the nightmare of slavery can evolve and grow into the healthy soil where freedom flourishes and King's Dream (and the dream of your parents and mine) can lead to the son of a Euro-American and an African born in Hawaii to be elected President of the United States.

A country with a Constitution so bold, that we eventually worked to overcome the legacy of our racist past, overcoming the original sin of it's the eradication of slavery at our beginning.

So great a democratic republic that the descendant of slave owners, abolitionists, freedom fighters, military veterans and peace activists can become an Obama delegate and a radio talk show host and writer who works to further the cause of freedom, the search for civil rights.

Today I am humbled with the love of my country and my fellow citizens, many of whom are having a great time in Denver (the bums), of my 18-year-old nephew who will vote for the first time, for a country so big, so capable of change that it can truly encompass us all.

We have a dream today, a dream we are seeing realized. We are not there yet as a nation, but we are closer than we have been before.

This one is for you, Dee-Dee. This one is for you, Auntie Tabe and George and Simone and Eunice and Era and Freckles and Dad and Sarah and Rosa. Alec, Christina, Daniel, nephews and niece, family North, South, East and West.

Sisters and Brothers. A dream was rekindled with "the we are the United States of America speech" of Obama's at John Kerry's convention in 2004.

Today the dream is alive. This one is one for us all.
