It is obvious that John McCain is crying for a postponement of Friday's debate because he cannot or does not want to face losing in the polls, preparing for a debate and working for the American people at the same time.

Barack Obama made it clear today that he wanted to issue a joint statement of the principles they agreed on to help the process. If we are needed in Washington, he says, we can go and debate.

McCain tried a "Hail Mary" pass and failed.

The American public NEEDS to hear from the two men seeking to lead them. McCain looks weak as he seeks to run back to Washington to stand next to Senator Joe Lieberman and aim to look post-partisan. His campaign has been filled with Karl Rovian partisan hack attacks, so for him to get "religion" after his lies and invective is amusing as best, pathetic at worst.

Show up, John, time to debate Barack Obama on the economy, foreign affairs and whatever else comes up.

Not surprising, given the fact today Joe Biden gave a fine speech on foreign affairs and you won't even let your candidate for VEEP speak to the press.

The American people need to know where their leaders stand, not where they can hide.

A President must be able to juggle competing priorities at all times. All you have done, McCain, is drop the ball.
