Who knew we would have to echo the words of the McCarthy era to the Republican candidates in 2008?

But the latest pathetic and putrid attacks by Sarah Palin against Barack Obama merit the question.

Such are the tactics of the fear ridden and stupid. Barack Obama spent a few hours on CHARITY work to help EDUCATE our children with William Ayers who, in the 1960s, helped found the Weather Underground to oppose the war in Vietnam with violence that Obama has condemned, on the record.

What ever happened to redemption, change, reform? If we tag the sins of youth forever, then Sarah Palin is a moron who cannot finish any one school, a "barracuda" who flirts with banning books and doesn't understand science, a revenge seeking governor, a beauty queen who can only debate with prompts scrawled on notecards to keep her from tumbling into the abyss where the most innocuous follow up questions freeze her like a moose in her tracks.

And McCain (please read the Rolling Stone profile--it's devastating)if trapped in his past, is stuck as a bully and failure in school, stuck below the burning deck of a ship he helped ignite, letting others fight the flames, stuck confessing perpetually to the North Vietnamese in moments of weakness, frozen forever as a Senator caught in ethical violations in the last huge economic pyramid scam big business stuck us with--the savings and loan scandal.

Much better to stick to the present for both Republicans--but if they stay here on October 8, 2008, it is painfully apparent to both that they cannot win the electorate in the United States because their ideas, like their rhetoric, is mired in the muck of the past.

All the more reason to embrace the 21st century and the new world where Barack Obama and Joe Biden will lead us to better times that will take the commitment and dedication of all.

I join the pundits who are condemning McCain-Palin for their latest round of hate speech. They are pathetic and desperate and it shows.

McCain risks tarnishing forever what remains of his career. And she is unspeakably ignorant or a politician on the order of Joe McCarthy. We do not need our White House to be further sullied by those unworthy to occupy its halls.

ENOUGH.
