Whether or not Larry Craig, Senator of Idaho, resigns is really only one of the questions. Craig, who pleaded guilty to getting caught with his proverbial pants down in a men's airport bathroom, is a conservative, anti-gay rights republican. So that makes it very tempting indeed to rake him over the "wow, are you a hypocrite" coals.

A few observations. It is sad that someone who is so bigoted may be in the closet so deeply he resorts to hidden trysts in bathrooms. It is awful that gay men are arrested for trysting in bathrooms much more often than heteros are ever arrested for #### pretty much anywhere, anytime, anyplace. And it is definitely disgusting that the cop, while doing his job, also betrayed the ignorance that many in law enforcement display all too often. I.E. he'd expect lying behavior from somebody from the "hood" (and we all know what that is code for), but not someone of the Senator's so-called stature.

Let's not judge so much, and be careful of our prejudices. All of us, me included, could use more work on that score.
